On 24 February, the Antimonopoly Committee, together with the Support group for Ukraine and the Project, will hold a seminar on policy and regulatory issues regarding free economic zones and industrial parks. Officials from the Verkhovna Rada, Antimonopoly Committee, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Ministry of Finance, Ukrainian and European experts will take part in the seminar.
During the seminar, experts will review current initiatives concerning free economic zones (FEZ) and industrial parks in Ukraine, observe principles of operation and regulation of FEZ in Ireland, Poland and Romania, consider the countries’ approach to state aid for investors, as well provide an assessment of success of FEZ.
The topic is of particular relevance in view of adoption of the EU State aid regulatory system in Ukraine under the Association Agreement, which requires a revision of state aid rules, including the country’s policy on free economic zones (FEZ) and industrial parks functioning.
