EU Project Trained the Ministry of Finance and the State Fiscal Service on State Aid
On 29 October 2015, the Project held an intensive one-day foundation training for the Ministry of Finance and the State Fiscal Service on most aspects of State aid regulation and key issues regarding the functioning of the future State aid monitoring and control system in Ukraine.
The training covered a wide range of issues of EU State aid law – basic principles, concepts, operations and methodologies. The training also reviewed available data on recent Ukrainian State support measures and explained the essence of the Law “On State aid to undertakings” and what could be expected as regards its future application.
Of particular interest for the Ministry of Finance and the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine there was a discussion of the role of the Ministry as one of the biggest State aid providers in the future system of State aid regulation, the new requirements of the Budget Code related to the Law on State Aid to Undertakings and the issue of procedural aspects of recovery of illegal State aid.
Up to 30 officials from different Departments of the Ministry of Finance and from the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine participated in the training.
