Project Experts Explained What Reforms in Public Procurement Would Association Agreement Yield
On 20 March 2015,Project Experts made appearanceat the international conference “Association Agreement: A to Z”, that was organized by the Ukrainian BAR Association in cooperation with the Ukrainian Center of Investment and Trade Promotion.
The conference was solely dedicated to future changes in legislation as a result of the recent Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union. During the forum, leading Ukrainian and International specialistsadvised on how to read and interpret relevant provisions, imparted what reforms are planned and what will the law harmonisation be like in practice.
The Project Experts were invited to speak on the topic. Valentin Dereviankin, Deputy Project Leader, gave a presentation on ” Institutional reforms in public procurement to simplify and facilitate the penetration into state procurement markets.” While Steen Bruun-Nielsen, Senior Public Procurement Expert, instructed on theinitial commitmentsunder the Association Agreement and assessed potential impact.
